Position Objective:

Responsible for developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to maintain data quality, integrity, and security across the organization.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Systems Applications or related.


• Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant IT work experience


• Experience with relevant evelopment tools, application architecture, data architecture, and business architecture


• Extensive leadership and management skills (e.g., budget development and administration, policy development and implementation, personnel administration, staff training and development)


• Effective oral and written communication skills.


• Strong knowledge regarding digital transformation frameworks and development programs

● High level of technical expertise, combined with excellent planning, coordination and communication skills, and the ability to work on teams

● Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creates and enforces data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent data management practices across the organization.

  2. Manages data quality by defining data quality standards, developing metrics, and monitoring performance to ensure data meets organizational requirements.

  3. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve data quality issues and drive continuous improvement.

  4. Monitors data quality, conducts data profiling, and establishes rules and metrics to identify and address areas for enhancement.

  5. Implements data security controls, manages data access rights, and ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.

  6. Implements data management technologies and ensures they are effectively utilized to achieve organizational goals.

  7. Manages data integration and warehousing, including developing integration strategies, overseeing warehousing projects, and ensuring proper data storage and maintenance.

  8. Oversees data management teams by defining team goals, managing performance, and supporting team development; ensures the team is equipped with the necessary training and resources.

  9. Establishes mechanisms for data governance oversight, including regular reviews and audits; prepares data governance reports, dashboards, and metrics for senior leadership.

  10. Provides training and guidance to employees on data governance principles, policies, and procedures, promoting a culture of data stewardship and compliance.
