Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Governance Solution Lead to drive the implementation of scalable, automated data governance solutions across cloud platforms and ecosystems. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical execution, focusing on key governance pillars such as data quality, access control, lineage, and standardization. The ideal candidate will leverage existing tools (e.g., Databricks Unity Catalog, cloud-native governance services, metadata platforms) and develop custom solutions to enforce policies and ensure compliance. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, security, analytics, and business teams to embed governance seamlessly into data workflows.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and optimize governance tools (e.g., Databricks Unity Catalog, Snowflake, cloud-native services) to enforce data policies.
  • Design and build custom governance solutions for metadata extraction, lineage tracking, access pattern analysis, and high-usage dataset monitoring.
  • Develop audit tools to assess policy compliance and governance effectiveness.
  • Automate data access controls, policy enforcement, and quality monitoring using scripting and SQL.
  • Integrate governance frameworks into ETL pipelines and data platforms to ensure consistent enforcement.
  • Implement automated data quality checks and remediation workflows using modern technologies.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging tools and methodologies to enhance governance automation and scalability.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to align governance practices with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to enforce governance policies and drive adoption across teams.
  • Continuously refine governance models to support evolving technologies and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data engineering, or data management.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with governance tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Snowflake, and metadata management platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Scala) for automation and integration.
  • Hands-on experience embedding governance into cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks) and ETL processes.
  • Expertise in designing scalable governance models (e.g., data mesh, multi-cloud environments).
  • Solid understanding of IAM, RBAC/ABAC, data security best practices, and compliance frameworks.
