About the role

Victor Consunji Development Corporation is seeking an experienced Accounting Officer to join our growing team. This full-time position is based in our Makati City, Metro Manila office. As an Accounting Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial operations and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, management reports, and forecasts in accordance with company policies and applicable financial standards.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of accounting reports such as account balances, cost tracking, budget utilization, and variance analyses.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with department heads to align with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Review and approve invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policy.
  • Ensure timely collection and disbursement of funds, validating accuracy of transactions in the financial system.
  • Oversee general ledger and bank books maintenance and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of accounting records.
  • Reconcile passbooks, ledgers, and accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and government regulatory requirements (e.g., BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
  • Recommend and implement accounting process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members, promoting professional growth and high performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial transparency and organizational compliance.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by the CFO and/or CEO based on operational needs.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA license or progress towards professional accounting qualification (preferred)
  • At least 3-7 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the real estate or construction industry
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and best practice.
  • Knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and BIR tax regulations
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and MS Office applications
  • Proficient in SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems, plus advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
