US GAAP Accountant (Project-Based / Remote – Philippines)

Company: Critical Future Ltd (UK)

Project Duration: ~8 weeks (December 2025 – January 2026)

Compensation: USD 1,500 – 2,000 (project-based)

Location: Remote, Philippines

About the Project

We are supporting a US technology company in cleaning up and restating its 2023–2024 financial statements to make them fully compliant with US GAAP. The work involves reconstructing accounts, correcting revenue timing, validating fixed assets and depreciation, and preparing audit-ready financial statements.

You'll collaborate with our London-based team and a junior accountant who will handle data entry and reconciliations — your focus is the technical accounting and GAAP accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rebuild and restate financial statements for 2023–2024 in compliance with US GAAP
  • Review and adjust revenue and expense cut-offs in line with ASC 606
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, accruals, and intercompany transactions
  • Validate and recalculate depreciation for fixed assets (Asset Panda / Excel)
  • Calculate unbilled revenue based on invoices and performance periods
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries and working papers for review
  • Deliver clean, audit-ready statements using client templates
  • Communicate progress clearly and meet agreed milestones

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in accounting or audit with strong US GAAP exposure
  • Experience preparing or auditing financial statements and adjusting entries
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and fixed asset accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with QuickBooks, Intacct, or Zoho a plus
  • Big 4 or similar audit firm background highly preferred
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently with UK/US time overlap
