Finance Manager – Construction Industry

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the company. This position requires not only strong accounting and compliance skills, but also expertise in construction-related finance functions such as project costing, purchasing, and vendor negotiations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to management, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and profit margins are maximized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements tailored to construction operations and project-based reporting.
  • Oversee project costing, budget monitoring, and variance analysis to ensure profitability and cost control.
  • Manage procurement-related financial activities, including purchase planning, supplier negotiations, and cost efficiency strategies.
  • Ensure tax compliance and accurate filings, aligned with construction industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agencies, banks, and regulators regarding financial matters.
  • Provide financial insights to support operational decisions, project bids, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain financial transparency.
  • Guide and mentor the finance team to strengthen processes across accounting, reporting, and procurement.

Qualifications

  • CPA preferred (preferred).
  • At least 4-6 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, ideally within the construction or project-based industries.
  • Proven expertise in costing, procurement, and supplier negotiation.
  • Strong knowledge of taxation, compliance, and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with IFRS/Philippine Financial Reporting Standards.
