Operations Manager – Reinsurance Brokerage

Location: Lepanto Building (Onsite, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Role Summary

The Operations Manager will oversee and enhance the day-to-day operations of a reinsurance brokerage, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and client service excellence. This is not a generic operations role — it requires someone who can grasp the unique processes of treaty and facultative reinsurance transactions, documentation flows, and broker-client-reinsurer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage operational processes specific to reinsurance brokerage (placements, documentation, reporting).
  • Develop and implement procedures that ensure timely flow of reinsurance contracts and statements of accounts.
  • Supervise and train staff, fostering knowledge in the specialized reinsurance space.
  • Collaborate with finance and business development teams to support seamless client servicing.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency in the brokerage model.

Qualifications

  • Background in reinsurance operations or brokerage required (at least 5 years).
  • Prior leadership experience at Assistant Manager, Manager, or Supervisor level.
  • Strong understanding of treaty and facultative reinsurance processes, slip preparation, bordereaux, and claims documentation.
  • Experience with compliance, regulatory requirements, and reporting in the insurance/reinsurance space.
  • Ability to streamline workflows and introduce operational efficiencies.
  • Skilled at training and mentoring staff in a niche technical field.
  • Problem-solving mindset with adaptability to a flat, entrepreneurial culture.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with reinsurers, clients, and internal teams.
