Job Summary:

The Government Relations Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the relationship between an organization and government entities. This role involves monitoring legislation, advocating for favorable policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The GRM acts as a liaison, representing the organization's interests in public policy discussions and legislative matters.

  • Policy Monitoring & Advocacy

  • Track and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at local, regional, and national levels.

  • Advocate for the organization's interests in public policy discussions and legislative forums.
  • Draft position papers, policy briefs, and reports to inform internal stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, agencies, and industry stakeholders.

  • Represent the organization at public hearings, meetings, and events.
  • Facilitate visits of government officials to the organization.

  • Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement government relations strategies aligned with organizational goals.

  • Advise senior leadership on political and regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate lobbying efforts and ensure alignment with internal departments.

  • Communication & Reporting

  • Prepare speeches, press releases, and communication materials related to government affairs.

  • Provide regular updates to executives on legislative initiatives and policy changes.
  • Maintain a network of contacts within government and related organizations.
