Job Description

As a Senior Accountant (CPA), you will oversee financial reporting, compliance, and control functions for an international portfolio. You'll ensure precision, transparency, and accountability across accounting processes while supporting leadership with critical insights that drive business growth and decision-making.

The Qualifications We Seek

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1-2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero.

Your Daily Tasks

Financial Reporting

• Prepare Management Accounts from Xero to meet specific client needs, including building custom reports within Xero.
• Prepare Financial Statements, service charge budgets, and cashflow forecasts.
• Prepare and submit Jersey GST returns with minimal supervision.
• Deliver all reports and budgets within agreed timelines and deadlines.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.

Financial Control

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of client property transactions across multiple systems, resolving bookkeeping errors as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate rent, service charge, and recharge invoicing; process supplier bills and payments within set terms.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with property management teams to allocate meter readings and costs accurately.
• Support and manage systems integrations to enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain robust financial control policies and internal procedures.
• Provide accounting theory guidance to team members when necessary.

Compliance and Regulation

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including AML and GDPR requirements.
• Report any regulatory issues or suspicions promptly to the MLRO.
• Maintain vigilance in ensuring compliance and confidentiality across all functions.

Internal Responsibilities

• Support client development by fostering strong professional relationships.
• Represent the company professionally to external stakeholders and clients.
• Drive continuous improvement and uphold high-quality service standards.
• Identify operational risks and contribute to proactive business solutions.
• Manage time efficiently, ensuring productivity while minimizing operational costs.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned and comply with health and safety standards under the Health & Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989.
