Feed Mill Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Personnel Management & Supervision

2. Allocate manpower to work areas (Control Room Operators, Machine Operators, Laborers, etc.)

3. Monitor daily operations, including:

4. Raw Material (RM) pouring, batching, grinding, pelleting, and bagging.

5. Finished Goods (FG) stacking, labeling, and packaging.

6. Conduct weekly meetings with staff to address performance, safety, and production issues.

7. Enforce discipline through merits/demerits (issuance of memos, corrective actions).

8. Production & Quality Control

9. Ensure materials are available for uninterrupted production.

10. Implement frequent in-process quality checks to verify product conformity (texture, weight, packaging, labels).

11. Monitor RM vs. FG yield to minimize waste and ensure accurate production output.

12. Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) for product testing and compliance.

13. Equipment & Maintenance Oversight

14. Supervise daily & weekly Preventive Maintenance (PMS) for machines, motors, and equipment (greasing, inspections).

15. Track consumable parts (die/roller lifespan) and machinery efficiency.

16. Report equipment failures and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.

17. Safety & Compliance

18. Work with Safety Officers to enforce PPE usage, LOTO procedures, and hazard reporting.

19. Ensure a clean, safe work environment (feedmill premises and surrounding areas).

20. Conduct safety briefings and incident investigations as needed.

21. Raw Materials & Inventory Monitoring

22. Inspect incoming RM quality (color, smell, texture) and storage conditions.

23. Verify proper RM handling to prevent contamination or spoilage.

24. Cost & Efficiency Management

25. Monitor production costs (electricity, fuel, labor) and recommend efficiency improvements.

26. Maintain accurate records of machine performance, downtime, and maintenance logs.

27. Reporting & Coordination

28. Escalate critical issues (production delays, safety hazards, personnel conflicts) to the Manufacturing Manager.

29. Document and submit daily/weekly reports on production output, quality deviations, and maintenance activities.

30. Prepare monthly presentation report.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering graduate
• With at least 2 years experience as Feed Mill Supervisor
• With strong leadership abilities
• Knowledgeable in Inventory Management
• Knowledgeable in implementation of ISO-9002 v2015
