A Visual Merchandising Supervisor is well informed of the current trends, visual guidelines, styling techniques and competitor landscapes. They perform window and product display conceptualization in all company-owned stores and generate sketches of visual displays that meet the store's visual design requirements. By setting a budget, they source, communicate and negotiate and liaise with suppliers and implement all phases of new store opening setups.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes window and product displays in all company-owned stores, corners and exhibits with the objective of enhancing product and competitive image, visual impact and customer purchase;
  • Generating sketches of visual displays that meet the store's visual design requirements. Finalizing designs and creating detailed floor plans for display areas.
  • Leads all VM elements, windows/visuals elements & campaigns rollout, VM collaterals, in-store product merchandise presentation/store floor sets & special initiated allocations within zone/stores, POP UPs, Animations, Events, VM/Marketing related campaigns & E-commerce/digital communications areas in accordance to VM Head Office direction and guidelines.
  • Implements seasonal themes based upon merchandise trends and external factors: trend reports, visual markets, competitive shops, vendor communications, multimedia resources.
  • Sets budget by managing expenses associated with visual conceptualization and execution.
  • Research current trends, visual guidelines, styling techniques and competitor landscapes so as to anticipate customer needs and opportunities for SM Dept Stores.
  • Source, communicate, negotiate and liaise with suppliers (vendor's management) from negotiation, production and fabrication, scheduling of timeline and deliveries;
  • Plans and implements all phases of new store opening setups/refurbishment from: -VM, project/timeline management, initial concepts, creative, layouts, production, VM props procurement & inventories, capex planning & management, logistics & delivery from initial/ implementation/ execution till final completion.
  • Provides training and communication in the execution of planograms and other visual merchandising initiatives.

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of any 4 year course related to designs, arts, or VM.
  • At least 2 years experience in the same capacity preferably in retail industry;
  • Extensive experience in rolling-out special animations thematic campaigns/seasonal or marketing campaigns.
  • Basic MS Applications, 3D, AutoCAD and/or Sketchup is a must, along with Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Suite.
  • Willing to work full-time on a flexible on-site schedule in Malate, Manila.
