Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data systems, dashboards, and visual analytics that empower the business to make data-driven decisions. This role combines technical database expertise with analytical insight to translate complex information into meaningful, actionable intelligence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in similar role
  • Proven experience in database design, data warehousing, and BI tool development (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
  • Strong skills in SQL, data modelling, and ETL processes
  • Experience or familiarity with financial systems or data analysis preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • With strong communication skills (above average English skills)
  • Willing to work in Australian Time (shifting schedule)

Job Description:

Database Design and Management

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable databases and data models to support reporting and analytics needs
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across multiple sources and platforms

Dashboard & Reporting Development

  • Build intuitive dashboards, visualisations, and reports that translate data into actionable insights
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify key metrics and performance indicators
  • Continuously enhance BI tools and visualisation capabilities for better user experience and decision support

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement
  • Provide analytical support to finance and operational teams to drive forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and Business Units to align data solutions with organisational goals
  • Present complex data in clear, compelling ways to technical and non-technical audiences

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay informed on emerging BI technologies, tools, and best practices
  • Recommend process and system enhancements to improve efficiency and data accessibility

Safety

  • Adhere to all WHS regulations, guidelines, safety policies, and procedures as outlined by the organisation and applicable legislation
  • Attend and complete all required WHS training, including safety protocols, emergency procedures, and safe work practices
  • Carry out all tasks following established safe work procedures to minimise risks of accidents or injuries
  • Promptly report hazards, incidents, injuries, or near misses to the relevant personnel
  • Undertake safety audits and inspections as required or instructed
