Commissary Manager (Industrial Engineer Graduate)

Location: Quezon City

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Supervises: Production Supervisor, Commissary Kitchen Supervisor, Purchasing Supervisor, and R&D Supervisor


Job Summary:

The Commissary Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire commissary operations — from production planning and materials management to inventory control and process optimization. The role requires a strong background in industrial engineering and a strategic mindset to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production processes that align with company goals.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage day-to-day commissary operations, ensuring smooth coordination among production, purchasing, and R&D departments.
  • Oversee the implementation of the master production plan, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory monitoring.
  • Participate in business planning and commissary setup/transfer projects (construction and timeline planning).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency, quality assurance, and production output.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives in production systems, materials management, and workflow processes using industrial engineering principles.
  • Conduct cost analysis and recommend process optimization strategies to minimize waste and reduce production costs.
  • Supervise and train staff to uphold best practices in commissary management and food manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing and R&D teams for product development, sourcing, and innovation.
  • Prepare and present regular operational reports, forecasts, and project updates to top management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Business-related field (Industrial Engineer preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in a food manufacturing, production, or commissary environment.
  • Strong background in production planning, materials management, and inventory control.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and other analytical tools.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High sense of integrity, discipline, and accountability.
  • Flexible and willing to work on shifting schedules, graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays.
