Position Summary

The Helper supports field technicians, plumbers, and the Team Leader in the installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water pipelines and related infrastructure. The role assists in preparing materials, tools, and work areas to ensure that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Field Support & Execution

  • Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of water pipes, valves, meters, and fittings.
  • Help prepare work areas, including clearing excavations, moving materials, and setting up tools and equipment.
  • Support field technicians in conducting basic measurements, pipe alignment, and assembly under supervision.
  • Carry tools, equipment, and materials to and from the job site as required.
  • Perform basic manual labor such as digging, backfilling, cleaning, and site restoration after repairs.

Troubleshooting Assistance

  • Assist in locating leaks, blockages, and low-pressure points as directed by senior personnel.
  • Support emergency repair activities by preparing materials, controlling valves, or handling tools.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and properly stored after use.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies during field activities.
  • Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents to the Team Leader or Technician.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and hazard-free worksite.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Communicate needs for tools, materials, or additional support to the Team Leader.
  • Assist in documenting material usage, basic site conditions, or simple work updates when instructed.
  • Cooperate with the project team, LGU representatives, and clients for smooth site operations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent; vocational training in Plumbing, Pipefitting, or related fields is an advantage.
  • Experience in construction, plumbing assistance, or utility work is preferred but not required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic understanding of plumbing tools and field work operations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of technicians and team leaders.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in various weather and site conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic awareness of safety practices in construction or utility settings.

Work Conditions

  • May require overtime, weekend, or holiday work depending on project needs.
  • Exposure to construction environments, excavation works, uneven terrain, and heavy equipment.
  • Work involves lifting materials, prolonged standing, bending, and field activities.
