Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Accounts Officer to join our team and support the day-to-day finance operations across our diverse group of businesses. Your experience in accounts receivable and bank reconciliations is crucial to maintaining our financial accuracy and fostering strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients. In this role, you will manage a broad range of accounting tasks, from daily reconciliations to month-end records, helping to ensure our operations run seamlessly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Reconcile POS and EFTPOS settlements, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Maintain and reconcile tax liability accounts to ensure compliance.
- Process journal entries to maintain financial accuracy.
- Manage customer payments and proactively follow up on overdue invoices.
- Conduct petty cash reconciliations and track expenditures.
- Enter and process employment reimbursements accurately and on time.
- Manage credit card reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients, providing prompt and courteous responses.
- Support month-end financial records maintenance and provide data for reporting.
- Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar accounts receivable, accounts payable, or bookkeeping role.
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero preferred).
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- A proactive mindset for continuous improvement of accounting processes and practices.
- Availability to work every weekday (flexible hours possible).
Desirable:
- Previous experience working within a multi-entity business group.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve financial discrepancies.
- Familiarity with Australian financial and tax regulations.
Software Proficiency:
- Xero (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- POS and EFTPOS systems (desirable)
Education:
- A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred but not essential.

- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
