Mission / Purpose of This Job
The core mission of the SEO Manager is to lead, innovate, and scale our SEO department, ensuring JRNY Digital delivers best-in-class organic growth strategies that directly tie into each client's North Star Goal. This role involves overseeing all aspects of technical, on-page, and off-page SEO, building repeatable frameworks, and mentoring a high-performing SEO team. The SEO Manager is both strategist and operator — translating insights into action and ensuring JRNY's SEO offering remains industry-leading.

- 100% on-time delivery of all SEO builds, optimisations, and reports.
- Sustainable organic traffic and search visibility growth across all client accounts.
- Clear alignment between SEO outputs and client ROI, contributing directly to retention and account growth.
- Strong collaboration across Paid Ads, Social, Content, and Web teams to deliver omnichannel success.
Key Responsibilities
- SEO Strategy Leadership: Develop and own long-term SEO strategies for clients. Ensure all campaigns are aligned with their business goals and industry landscape.
- Technical SEO Oversight: Conduct and review advanced audits, ensuring site architecture, schema, Core Web Vitals, crawlability, and indexing are optimised.
- Keyword & Competitor Intelligence: Lead research and analysis to inform high-level content and optimisation strategies.
- Content & On-Page Optimisation: Partner with Copywriters and Content Managers to ensure all site and blog content is optimised and aligned to client objectives.
- Off-Page & Authority Building: Oversee link-building, outreach, and digital PR efforts, ensuring safe, scalable growth of domain authority.
- Performance Monitoring: Build reporting frameworks to track KPIs, turning raw data into actionable insights for clients and the leadership team.
- Team Leadership: Mentor SEO Specialists and Copywriters, providing training, feedback, and performance direction.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Paid Ads, Social Media, and Web Development teams to ensure holistic strategies and client success.
KPIs
- Client Targets: At least 80% of client SEO goals achieved or exceeded monthly.
- Timeliness: 100% on-time completion of projects, audits, and deliverables.
- Growth: Scale organic traffic and keyword rankings for at least 70% of managed accounts within 6 months.
- Campaign Scaling: Deliver demonstrable ROI that supports account growth for at least 25% of managed accounts every 6 months.
- Retention: SEO satisfaction reflected in client retention >90%.
Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or senior strategist role.
- Proven success driving organic growth for DTC, B2C, or professional services clients.
- Strong technical SEO knowledge (crawl optimisation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, site migrations).
- Proficiency in SEO tools: Google Analytics (GA4), Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Moz, etc.
- Solid CMS knowledge (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow).
- Excellent project management and prioritisation skills across multiple accounts.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (SEO/analytics certifications preferred).
