Pre-Production & Planning

  • Understanding in detailed trussing plans based on venue specifications, rigging points, and load calculations.
  • Understanding of lighting requirements in collaboration with the creative and production teams.
  • Calculate and coordinate power requirements, including generator sizing, cable runs, and load balancing.
  • Understanding of technical schematics and CAD/SKP drawings for staging, rigging, and equipment layout.
  • Conduct site inspections and feasibility assessments for ingress/egress, clearance, and safety.

Vendor & Crew Coordination

  • Liaise with lighting, audio, rigging, and staging vendors to ensure technical specs are met.
  • Supervise technical crew during setup, rehearsals, and show day, ensuring timelines and safety protocols are followed.
  • Approve equipment lists and oversee logistics for delivery, setup, and strike.

On-Site Execution

  • Supervise technical build-up operations including truss assembly, lighting rigging, power distribution, and stage construction.
  • Monitor real-time progress and troubleshoot technical issues during ingress and show execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, venue regulations, and engineering tolerances.

Post-Event & Documentation

  • Oversee strike and load-out operations, ensuring equipment is packed and returned properly.
  • Document technical performance, challenges, and learnings in a Post-Event Technical Report.
  • Maintain a library of technical plans and templates for future reference.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in live event production, concert staging, or broadcast engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of rigging systems, lighting design, power distribution, and staging logistics.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Sketchup) and technical drawing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple vendors and timelines.

Preferred Certifications

  • TESDA or equivalent certification in rigging, electrical systems, or technical production.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Fire Safety).
  • Familiarity with international standards such as OSHA, ANSI, or PLASA is a plus.
