Overview

We're looking for a passionate MySQL Developer with at least 2+ years of professional experience in database development and optimization. The ideal candidate understands relational database design, can write clean and efficient SQL queries, and enjoys working on data-driven applications that power automation, analytics, or business intelligence systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain MySQL databases for production and internal systems.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, joins, and stored procedures for performance.
  • Assist in schema design, indexing strategies, and database normalization.
  • Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance or connection issues.
  • Support backup, recovery, and replication procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of backend code and databases.
  • Maintain database documentation and ensure data integrity across environments.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to database-related best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a MySQL Developer or Database Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of SQL syntax, database design principles, and data normalization.
  • Familiarity with query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Basic understanding of data backup, replication, and migration.
  • Experience working with PHP, Python, or applications connected to MySQL (a plus).
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to cloud-based MySQL databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of NoSQL systems (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of Docker or containerized deployments.
  • Familiarity with ETL or data integration tools.
