About the role

VAST Construction, a leading construction firm in the Philippines, is seeking an exceptional Estimator to join our growing team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and budgetary guidance. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be based in our Muntinlupa City office, where you will contribute to the company's strategic objectives and growth.

What you'll be doing

  1. Carefully analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction materials, labour, equipment, and other related expenses
  2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather and verify cost data, ensuring the accuracy of estimates
  3. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve project profitability
  4. Participate in the bidding process by preparing competitive and comprehensive proposals
  5. Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting as necessary to reflect changes in scope or market conditions
  6. Assist in the development and maintenance of cost databases, historical information, and industry benchmarks
  7. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's estimating processes and best practices

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a professional Estimator, preferably in the construction industry
  2. Experience in estimating for various construction project types including residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors
  3. Thorough understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry standards
  4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform accurate cost calculations
  6. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, reliable estimates
  7. Proficient in using estimating software and spreadsheet applications
  8. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
  9. A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
