Your Role

The
Investment Consultant (IC)
position will be broadly responsible for supporting and delivering the consulting-based products and services of MPI Premier to both Premier Relationship Managers (RMs) and clients. The incumbent provides investment advice to RMs and clients to meet client's desired risk/investment performance requirements and increase bank's share of client wallet.

Your Impact

The IC performs its functions for Maybank Wealth Management, providing investment advice to MPI Premier RMs and clients to meet client's desired risk/investment performance requirements and increase bank's share of client wallet. The areas covered by the Investment Consultant include market & fund manager analytics, mutual fund analysis, product management, portfolio analysis, performance evaluation as well as market research.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • To provide independent opinion on quality of clients' existing portfolios
  • To formulate the unit's overall investment strategies based on Maybank's house views in coordination with regional counterparts and cascade these strategies and investment ideas to RMs
  • To provide timely and financial advisory given client's financial objectives and needs profile
  • To monitor movements in financial markets and provide regular and timely feedback/advisory to RMs and clients
  • To comply with all applicable money laundering prevention procedures and in particular, report any suspicious activity to the Transaction Monitoring Unit.
  • To ensure compliance with all regulations and controls as set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities
  • To coordinate with both Trust and Treasury units in improving the investment process and product plate for HNWI

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Banking, Business Studies, Finance, Economics, or equivalent.
  • MBA or CFA Charterholder would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and coalition building skills with an ability to balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; high level of knowledge and understanding in the subject matters
  • SEC Fixed Income Market Salesman and UITF Certification
  • Experience in using Bloomberg Terminal or other financial software
