Software QA Tester

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Software QA Tester to support our development team in maintaining the quality and performance of our software products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, clear and effective communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering dependable, high-quality software solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to verify that software applications meet defined customer requirements, functional specifications, and usability standards. Ensure comprehensive test coverage and validate performance across a variety of platforms and environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, product managers, and quality assurance personnel to proactively identify potential issues, clarify requirements, and resolve defects throughout the software development lifecycle. Act as a key stakeholder in delivering high-quality software products.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret test results to identify trends, track defect patterns, and measure software stability. Deliver clear, concise, and actionable reports to developers and management, enabling informed decisions and continuous improvement of product quality.
• Contribute to ongoing test automation initiatives by designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts. Evaluate current testing workflows and identify areas where automation can reduce manual effort, increase test efficiency, and accelerate release cycles.
• Thoroughly document software bugs and inconsistencies discovered during testing, providing developers with detailed replication steps, screenshots, and log files when necessary. Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and appropriate prioritization of issues.
• Conduct comprehensive regression testing prior to software releases to verify that new code changes have not negatively impacted existing functionalities. Ensure backward compatibility and overall application stability before deployment.
• Utilize Postman to perform API testing by crafting and executing requests, validating responses, and ensuring API endpoints meet expected functionality and performance. Leverage SQL queries to validate backend data and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Apply agile testing practices by participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews. Align testing activities with iterative development cycles and provide timely feedback to support continuous delivery.
• Perform manual testing of new features and bug fixes to verify functionality, usability, and compatibility. Use exploratory testing techniques where appropriate to uncover hidden defects and usability concerns.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance the software testing process by identifying inefficiencies, implementing best practices, and staying current with industry trends and tools. Promote a culture of quality and accountability within the software development team.

Technical Experiences:

1. Test Automation Tools & Frameworks Proficiency in tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium enables testers to write and maintain automated test scripts, reducing manual effort and increasing test efficiency.

2. Programming/Scripting Languages Strong understanding of at least one programming or scripting language—such as Python, Java, JavaScript for creating automated tests, working with CI/CD pipelines, and debugging complex issues.

3. API Testing and Tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured) Ability to test RESTful and SOAP APIs using tools like Postman or REST Assured is critical. Testers must validate response codes, payloads, headers, and ensure API integrations function correctly.

4. SQL and Database Validation Competence in writing SQL queries to validate data, check data integrity, and verify backend processes is crucial. This helps ensure that both frontend and backend systems are aligned.

5. Version Control & CI/CD Systems Familiarity with version control tools like Git, and experience integrating testing into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines.

Requirement:

• 3+ years of experience in software testing.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience with agile development processes and methodologies.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi-cultural teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on complex tasks.
• Stable internet connection, with at least 50 MBPS download and upload speed
• Back-up prepaid Wi-Fi/internet connection is available on standby
• Must have own computer with sufficient specifications to support virtual work.

Work Hours: 05:00 PM to 02:00 AM Philippine time; work hours may vary

Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays

Rest Days: Saturday and Sunday
