Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator to join our Commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for architectural, civil works, and structural projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural, civil, and structural plans and tender documents from clients/consultants.
  • Conduct pre-tender site visits and discussions with the estimating team.
  • Prepare tender submissions, including bills of quantities and contract documents.
  • Measure quantities, prepare detailed cost estimates, and review supplier/contractor quotations.
  • Participate in pre-bid and clarification meetings with clients.
  • Recommend cost-saving alternatives in materials and construction methods.
  • Provide financial reports highlighting budget variances and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in quantity surveying/cost estimation for fit-out, architectural, civil, and structural works.
  • Proven track record in preparing BoQs, claims management, and cost planning.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam, Revit, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.

Additional Technical Skills

  • Architectural: Accurate estimation of finishes, detailing, and labor.
  • Civil Works: Siteworks, earthworks, concrete, drainage, and utilities.
  • Structural: Steelworks, reinforced concrete, load analysis, and sequencing.
  • Knowledge of DOLE and Philippine construction regulations is an advantage.
