We provide support services, back-office operations services related to or which further the accomplishment of the corporation's investment services, banking transaction processing, and equity investment.

Position Purpose

The Associate member of BSPB Finance is primary responsible in assisting the BSPB Head of Finance for the coordination of the accounting closing, together with local stakeholders, the Finance Regional Platform (HK and ISPL FSS) and ISPL Accounts Payable team (FOP).

In this role, he/she acts as a backup contact point of the BSPB Finance team regarding all Finance related topics and assists in execution of local finance deliverables in full compliance with accounting standards, local regulations, and internal control requirements.

The Associate of BSPB Finance is required to have a good understanding of the activity dynamics of the entity that he/she supervises, manage upcoming accounting requirements, and works with the BSPB Head of Finance to formulate advice and opinions that will be shared to the Management Team of the entity. 

Responsibilities

1. Ensure that BSPB comply with Regional and Head Office instructions, including those for Forecasts/Budgets

2. Work closely with Regional Platform Teams on daily BAU work, as per guidance from BSPB Head of Finance.

3. Support BSPB Head of Finance to have accounts properly maintained and controlled.

4. Liaise with BSPB Head of Finance in coordinating with local Businesses and Functions to assist in Head Office Reporting.

5. Ensure compliance with the Regulatory Requirements

6. Accurate and timely preparation of various reports (Statutory, Head Office, Tax and Fiscal, Liquidity, Management), in compliance with BNPP Policy and local regulations.

7. Assist BSPB Head of Finance in liaising with external auditors for audit requirements and preparation of internal and audited statements.

8. Ensure BSPB tax and other regulatory filings are done on time

9. Work with BSPB Head of Finance in executing and monitoring tax and other regulatory filings.

10. Timely preparation of recurring tax returns to be filed with the BIR
11. Liaise with BSPB Head of Finance to ensure that Management and the Regional Tax Department are advised of any tax operational aspects in a timely manner

12. Liaise with external advisors for Tax Compliance services and execute activities pertaining to tax operations under the guidance of Regional Tax Department

13. Coordinate accounts payable deliverables for BSPB as follows:

14. Accounts Payable Function for BSPB is supported by ISPL FOP team

15. Staff Claims, Supplier Payments and Intragroup Invoicing (payments in and out) to be performed by Finance Operations Platform (FOP) in ISPL under Group's standardized procedures.
16. Validation of the expenses and payments amounts.
17. Liaise with local Business and Functions to ensure that supplier invoices are processed and uploaded in PDAP.
18. Coordinate for tax advice as per guidance from BSPB Head of Finance from external tax advisors / Regional Tax department for complex/new transactions.

19. Ensure staff claims and supplier payments are done on time.

20. Liaise with Regional Finance Teams to ensure full alignment:

21. Together with BSPB Head of Finance, practice close coordination with Regional Finance Teams to keep abreast of changes, priorities for the team and key deliverables

22. Contribute to Regional initiatives and ensure local application is fully in line

23. Ensure Group's operational control framework with regards Finance is effectively followed

24. Ensure written procedures / user guides are up to date and the processes as mentioned in the user guides are being followed.

Other contributions

• Prepare and update cash flow reporting of the BSPB entity
• Liaise with the regulators and consultants appointed for handling routine activities from time-to-time as advised by BSPB Head of Finance.
• Liaise with Professional Firms for seeking opinion on various finance matters as advised by BSPB Head of Finance.

Technical and Behavioral Qualifications

• At least a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Preferably a Fresher or 1-3 years of post-qualification experience Basic knowledge of Finance, Tax, internal control, local regulations
• Ability to work independently, with carefulness, confidence, responsibility
• Analytical skills, and eye for detail
• Communication skills & ability to manage stress
• Organized, solution oriented
• Philippine CPA certification is preferred, though not essential
