About the Company

SM Investments Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Accounting Manager to join our dynamic Finance organization. This pivotal role will ensure the integrity of financial reporting across the Group, strengthen our internal control framework, and provide strategic insights that support SM's continued growth and leadership in the Philippine market.

About the Role

As a key member of our Finance team, you will oversee end-to-end accounting operations, lead the monthly and annual close processes, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and governance. You will mentor a high-performing team, drive process optimization, and champion best practices aligned with SM's culture of excellence, innovation, and commitment to delivering value.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and manage both internal and external audit requirements.
  • Provide financial insights that support decision-making across SM's key business pillars.
  • Guide and develop an accounting team committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process efficiencies, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to elevate data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities in coordination with FP&A.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • At least 8–12 years of solid accounting experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical foundation in PH GAAP, IFRS, regulatory compliance, and audit.
  • Experience working in conglomerates, diversified groups, or large corporate environments is a plus.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
  • Strong leadership presence, communication skills, and stakeholder management capabilities.
