Position: IT Systems Engineer

Location: Cebu IT Park, Cebu City, Central Visayas

Job Type: Full-time (Onsite)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for planning, designing, and implementing system-related solutions that meet client requirements, whether onsite or remotely.
  • Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Perform routine system patching, backup, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain software and security updates on endpoints and servers to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Respond to alerts and incidents, diagnose problems, and take corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Investigate system-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with other teams to resolve issues, ensuring resolution within SLA.
  • Escalate critical incidents to higher-level support or specialized teams as needed and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of incidents, changes, and resolutions for future reference and reporting.
  • A member of a team of engineers that performs 24x7 standby duties on a rotational basis.
  • Handle after office hours escalation, if necessary, either onsite or remote.
  • Required to attend vendor-sponsored training to ensure that product knowledge and skills are always updated.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or other IT-related courses.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a SI environment and/or managing infrastructure systems.
  • Knowledgeable in Windows, Linux, VMware, and Storage Infrastructure.
  • Required knowledge and experience with Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP), Linux, VMware/Hyper-V virtualization, Veeam, and Azure Cloud.
  • Technical certifications in cloud and system technologies, such as CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VCP (VMware), VMCE (Veeam), CEH, etc., will be advantageous.
  • Vendor specific certificates such as Dell, HP, Huawei, etc., will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure best practices, system technologies, operational processes, and system engineering methodologies.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technology from a customer perspective.
  • Good project management and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic network knowledge is required.
