Position Summary
We are a leading provider of forwarding, transportation, and distribution services, seeking an experienced and service-oriented Accounting Associate. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit customer invoices in accordance with individual customer rate sheets.
  • Compile customer activity reports in preparation for billing.
  • Prepare and coordinate deposit activities.
  • Check, verify and process vendor invoices.
  • Sort, code and enter accounts payable data.
  • Assist with employee expense reports.
  • Prepare payments for signature and mailing.
  • Assist in month-end reporting procedures.
  • Verify accounting journals and ledgers in accordance with those you are responsible for.
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
  • Liaise with other departments/customers/vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, a related field, or equivalent education.
  • At least 5 years of related professional experience in the field of Accounting and Finance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. Knowledge of pivot tables, vlookup, and other formulas highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Software Applications related to accounting and finance.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both in writing and orally, with customers, employees, and management.
  • Ability to work well independently, within a team and under pressure, perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, exercise initiative and creativity to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
