Director, GIRM Assurance Program

The Director, Global Information Risk Management (GIRM) Assurance is a strategic and execution-focused role that ensures risks are properly managed across technology processes. This position provides objective assessment and testing on behalf of the 2nd line of defense and offers confidence to management and audit services. The role also involves managing a small team and collaborating across the organization to strengthen risk culture.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead and execute the annual assurance and IT control testing plan for the 2nd line of defense.
Scope and guide assurance activities, ensuring alignment with IRM methodologies.
Perform assurance in areas such as:
Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management
Technology Risk Management (third-party, asset inventory, IT incidents)
Information Security (vulnerability management, network/application security, IAM, cryptographic safeguards, penetration testing, KRI/KPI validation)
Document and publish assurance reports; socialize findings with stakeholders.
Provide technical expertise to ensure quality of testing and findings.
Manage a team of 2-5 members, delivering milestones on time and with quality.
Support planning and strategy to mature information risk management practices.
Stay current on evolving risks, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Advocate for a strong information risk culture across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience in Information Security and/or Technology Risk in a large enterprise.
Hands-on experience in IT control testing and assurance.
University degree (Computer Science or related discipline preferred).
Previous risk advisory consulting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of information risk management best practices.
Leadership experience in areas such as operations security, identity and access management, cryptographic safeguards, and penetration testing.
Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CRISC).
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication, consulting, and influencing skills.
Analytical, innovative, and strategic thinker.
Ability to manage stakeholders and build strong relationships.
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
