We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Application Support Specialist with expertise in Java to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for business-critical applications, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime. This role requires someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and resolve issues with urgency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2/3 application support for Java-based systems and related technologies.
  • Perform incident analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause identification for production issues.
  • Develop and execute Shell scripts for process automation and system monitoring.
  • Query and manage databases using Oracle SQL for data analysis and issue resolution.
  • Work on applications hosted on AIX (UNIX) platforms, ensuring high system availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to escalate, track, and resolve complex issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases.
  • Support deployment and post-release validation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with SLA timelines and proactively monitor system health.
  • Provide support with minimal supervision and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in application support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • AIX (UNIX) and Shell scripting
  • Oracle SQL
  • Java (supporting/debugging applications)
  • Knowledge of C# and .NET is a strong plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
  • Experience working in a production support environment with critical SLAs.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools and ticketing systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term

Contract length: 18 months

Pay: Up to Php50,000.00 per month
