About the client:
Our client is a California-based law firm specializing in Franchise and Distribution Law, with deep expertise representing franchisors, multi-unit franchisees, and businesses in the restaurant and retail sectors. They provide comprehensive legal support by drafting, registering, and reviewing franchise documents and related contracts to ensure scalable and compliant business growth.

About the role:
As a Litigation Paralegal (and/or Legal Assistant), you will play a critical role in supporting business litigation, trust litigation, and family law litigation matters. You will work closely with attorneys and staff to manage case logistics, handle legal documents, conduct research, and ensure deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both written and spoken Chinese and English, with strong skills in legal research, case management, and document preparation.

U.S.-based Law Firm Experience Is Required.
Experience in business, trust, and family law litigation is preferred.
Fluency (Written+Oral) in Mandarin Chinese is required.
What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinate and manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and court filings.
  • Organize and maintain case files, documents, and evidence in compliance with firm policies.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between attorneys, clients, and external parties.
  • Conduct legal research on case laws, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation matters.
  • Monitor case timelines and ensure timely completion of legal tasks.
  • Assist in trial preparation and provide support during hearings and trials.
  • Implement and improve operational processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in litigation support.

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven experience as a paralegal or similar role within a law firm in the US.
  • Experience in business, trust, and family law litigation is preferred.
  • Fluency (Written+Oral) in Mandarin Chinese and English is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research, document management, and case management software.
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures, legal terminology, and court rules.
