JOB DESCRIPTION

The

Content and Events Manager

is responsible for managing and creating various types of content for digital, broadcast, print media, events, podcasts, and social media. Overseer of the branded content assets and select editorial output of the company and its clients. The role is diverse and includes responsibilities related to content planning, creation, coordination, traffic management, and delivery. 

Oversees content creation and implementation of projects working on strict schedules and deadlines. Ensures that the production of content runs smoothly; be the administrative lead.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation

: Oversee the creation of content, which can include articles, videos, podcasts, social media posts, infographics, events, and more. This may involve editing, filming, recording, or designing content.

Project Management

: The

Content and Events Manager

manages content projects from conception to publication and implementation, ensuring that they meet deadlines and align with the overall content strategy.

Content Coordination

: The

Content and Events Manager

collaborates with content creators, writers, designers, video teams, and business and events team members to ensure the production of high-quality content that adheres to brand and project guidelines.

Quality Control

: The

Content and Events Manager

coordinates with appropriate members of the Editorial, Creative, Branded Content, and Business teams in reviewing and editing content to maintain consistency, accuracy, and relevance, as well as to ensure it meets the intended objectives.

Budget Management

: The

Content and Events Manager

helps manage budgets related to content creation, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.

Content Planning

: The

Content and Events Manager

is responsible for assisting in the development of content strategies, including determining the type of content needed, the target audience, and the distribution channels.

Creation of Presentations

: The

Content and Events Manager

coordinates and assists in the production of decks, videos, and other presentations needed for the publication's various endeavors, including pitch decks, media decks, sizzle reels, and more.

Analytics and Reporting

:  The

Content and Events Manager

monitors content performance with the help of the digital content team who use analytics tools and provide reports to assess the impact of content on audience engagement and business goals.

Qualifications:

  1. Education:

A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field is common. However, relevant experience and a strong portfolio can be equally important.
2. Creativity:

The ability to generate creative ideas for various content types is important for keeping content engaging and fresh.
3. Project Management:

Strong organizational and project management skills are valuable for coordinating multiple content initiatives.
4. Technical Skills:

Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), project management software, graphic design software, video editing tools, and SEO principles can be beneficial.
5. Adaptability:

The digital landscape is constantly evolving, so Content Producers should be adaptable and willing to learn new tools and techniques.

Content Producers commonly use various software tools, including:

Platforms like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla for publishing and managing digital content.
2. Editing and Design Software:
