General Manager – Food Solutions (Canteen Services)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Operations Director – Corporate Food Solutions (Canteen Services) to lead and manage canteen operations across one or multiple client sites. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, ensuring food quality, strengthening client relationships, and optimizing profitability.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with proven expertise in food service operations and the ability to align day-to-day execution with long-term business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily canteen operations to deliver high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve operational and financial targets.
  • Oversee procurement, menu planning, inventory control, and cost management to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage, mentor, and build high-performing teams of kitchen staff, supervisors, and service personnel.
  • Strengthen client partnerships and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Design and implement training programs to improve staff skills, customer service, and operational performance.
  • Present operational and financial performance reports to senior management.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and implement sustainable practices.
  • Address client and customer feedback with professionalism and prompt solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, or related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in food service operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in canteen services, institutional catering, or corporate food solutions.
  • Solid financial management skills (budgeting, forecasting, cost control).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and food service management software.
