POSITION SUMMARY

A food dispatcher's job is to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of food orders from the kitchen to the serving staff, acting as a bridge between the kitchen and the front of house. They receive orders, organize them for dispatch, ensure accuracy, and maintain a clean and organized work area. They also play a crucial role in maintaining service efficiency, food quality, and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Order Management: Receiving printouts of orders, organizing them by table number and order sequence, and prioritizing special requests and dietary restrictions.
  • Coordination: Communicating with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders, and communicating with servers to ensure accurate delivery to tables.
  • Quality Control: Checking for accuracy, presentation, and temperature of dishes before dispatching.
  • Maintaining Standards: Ensuring dishes are properly prepared and garnished according to restaurant standards.
  • Area Management: Maintaining a clean and organized dispatch area, ensuring proper sanitation and temperature control.
  • Support: Assisting kitchen staff during peak hours with plating or basic preparation tasks.
  • Communication: Communicating any delays or issues to relevant team members

Relevant skills

  • Coordinate the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area or delivery rider
  • Quality check ensure all outgoing orders are correct and meet quality standards
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Job Requirements

Education

  • At least college level

Work experience

  • At least 2 years experience in casual dining environment and experience in F&B
  • Prior experience in a customer service role is a plus
  • Strong communication skill and a friendly demeanor
