Job description:

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services in a cost-effective and timely manner. The role ensures that all purchases comply with company policies, quality standards, and budget requirements while supporting smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure best pricing, quality, and reliability.
  • Request and review quotations, compare proposals, and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documents.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services according to specifications and requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Finance, Warehouse) to determine purchasing needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary to avoid shortages.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, price lists, and supplier databases.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in cost analysis, budgeting, and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
