The
Payables Specialist
will handle the full-cycle of Accounts Payable process, including the auditing, processing and monitoring of supplier invoices and employee reimbursements to ensure accurate financial recording, complete documentation, and timely disbursement of payments and compliance to applicable company policies and guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Invoice / Expense Reports Processing & Auditing:
Perform 2-way/3-way match to validate expenses, Review invoices for proper account charging, tax treatment and compliance with company policies, Review and process employee expense reports, Accurately input invoice data into the accounting or ERP system - Reconciliation & Reporting:
Investigate, resolve and communicate discrepancies, payment errors, and vendor issues, Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all accounts are current, Perform periodic spot checks and validations to ensure accuracy of PO status and resolve any discrepancies, Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparation of accruals and journal entries, Reconcile the Accounts Payable subledgers to the General Ledger (GL) control account monthly, Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations - Process Optimization & Compliance Leadership:
Proactively monitor and maintain current knowledge of all relevant tax regulations, Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to payables workflows, systems, and procedures to enhance overall efficiency and data accuracy, Conduct regular refresher and training sessions to CSU payment request processors on the related policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least one (1) year of experience performing transaction accounting duties, with knowledge of using an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or major accounting software
- Experience in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Cycle, including the relationships between Purchase Orders (POs), receipts and invoices
