ABOUT THE ROLE

The Offshore Senior Estimator plays a key role in supporting the client's tendering process and pricing strategy for remedial, restoration, and high-access construction projects.

The role is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive estimates across multiple projects, helping to increase bid output, improve win rates, and free up local teams to focus on relationship building and strategy.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, experienced in Australian construction pricing practices, and thrives in a remote, fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Tendering & Estimating

· Prepare and coordinate accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for remedial, strata, and commercial construction projects.

· Review project documentation including scopes of work, site photos, engineering reports, and inspection notes to prepare BOQs.

· Liaise with project managers or local estimators to clarify project-specific requirements and constraints.

· Use available data to generate accurate material, labour, plant, and subcontractor costings.

2. Subcontractor & Supplier Pricing Coordination

· Request and collate subcontractor quotes, supplier rates, and specialty trade pricing.

· Build and maintain a central pricing library for common work packages to accelerate future tenders.

3. Process & Documentation

· Maintain a well-organised, repeatable estimating workflow aligned with Remsure's systems.

· Ensure estimates include structured breakdowns for review and client presentation (where applicable).

· Maintain version control, pricing assumptions, and exclusions logs.

4. Bid Support & Handover

· Collaborate with the Business Development Manager (Kristian) to review submissions and refine pricing strategy.

· Participate in bid reviews and post-tender clarifications.

· Provide structured project handovers to project delivery teams for successful tenders.

5. Systems & Reporting

· Use Remsure's selected estimation software or templates (e.g., Excel, Buildxact, CostX, or Nexvia) to prepare and track estimates.

· Track bid pipeline status, success rates, and prepare summary reports weekly.

· Contribute to ongoing improvement of pricing templates and historical cost benchmarking.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum 5 years' experience in construction estimating, ideally in the remedial or commercial fit-out sector.

· Strong understanding of Australian construction pricing standards and terminology.

· Experience reading engineering reports, scopes, and architectural drawings.

· High proficiency in Excel or estimating platforms (e.g., CostX, Buildxact, Cubit, or Nexvia).

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

· Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple bids with tight deadlines.

· Experience working remotely or in offshore teams for Australian clients is highly desirable.

Performance Measures:

· Number of tenders submitted per month.

· Win rate on submitted bids.

· Accuracy of estimates (measured against final costs).

· Timeliness and responsiveness to tender requests.

· Quality and clarity of pricing documentation and handovers.
