QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of fundamental baking techniques for bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
  • Prior experience working in a bakery or related environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of proper sanitation practices and food safety regulations.
  • Availability to work on-call, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Precision in measuring ingredients and following recipes.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Ability to work well with other bakery staff and communicate effectively.
  • For measurements, portions, and inventory management.
  • Enthusiasm for creating baked goods and experimenting with new recipes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and maintain baking equipment, ensuring it's clean and in good working condition.
  • Adhere to proper sanitation, hygiene, and safety protocols to prevent contamination.
  • Monitor ingredients and supplies; notify management when stock is low for replenishment.
  • Check baked goods for quality, consistency, and presentation before packaging or serving.
  • Prepare baking stations, clean work areas, and dispose of waste properly.
  • Be available to work during scheduled on-call shifts, often during early mornings, nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Work with other bakery staff to coordinate baking schedules and ensure smooth operations.
  • Adjust baking routines based on new recipes or special customer requests.
  • Document baking times, ingredients used, and other relevant information as required.
  • Assist in serving or packaging baked goods when needed.
  • Regularly sanitize work surfaces and equipment to ensure a clean working environment.
