We are a growing structured cabling and IT infrastructure company seeking a detail-driven and analytical Technical Estimator to support our sales and operations team by preparing accurate, competitive, and timely quotes for IT and low-voltage cabling projects. This is a remote role ideal for someone with strong technical acumen, excellent Excel skills, and a clear understanding of network infrastructure and IT project scopes.

The ideal candidate is process-oriented, understands how to read site plans or scopes of work, and can translate that into labor and material estimates using our internal systems.

You'll work directly with the owner and project coordinators to prepare client quotes, track project updates using project management tools, and manage communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Quoting
-Analyze project scopes, floor plans, and RFPs to develop detailed cost estimates.
-Prepare accurate quotes using Excel, factoring in labor, materials, subcontractors, travel, and overhead.
-Source pricing from suppliers, coordinate with vendors for lead times and availability.
-Update and maintain cost databases, price lists, and quoting templates.
-Work closely with the sales and project teams to revise estimates based on client feedback or scope changes.

Technical Scope Translation
-Review technical documentation (e.g., network diagrams, cabling schedules, device lists).
-Interpret IT and structured cabling requirements and translate them into bill of materials (BOM).
-Collaborate with field technicians and project managers to ensure quotes align with real-world implementation.

Process & Communication
-Track and manage version control for all quotes submitted.
-Coordinate internally with stakeholders to meet bid deadlines and ensure accuracy.
-Provide technical input on proposals, RFIs, and scopes when needed.

Qualifications:
-2 years of experience in estimating, quoting, or technical coordination in IT, low-voltage, or construction-related industries.
-Familiarity with structured cabling and/or IT projects
-Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, templates, formatting).
-Experience with QuickBooks, Notion, PowerPoint, and Outlook is an asset.
-Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
-Excellent written and verbal English communication.
-Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Work Setup:
-Remote position.
-Full-time (37.5 hours/week) in EST time zone.
-Must have a reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet working environment.
