Financial Cost Analyst

Job Summary:

The Financial Cost Analyst is responsible for analyzing and evaluating cost structures, operational expenses, and financial data to support strategic decision-making. This role plays a vital part in ensuring cost-efficiency, budgeting accuracy, and profitability across projects or departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze actual costs vs. budgets and forecasts across departments or projects
  • Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and profitability assessments
  • Monitor inventory costs, production costs, and overhead allocations
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Develop financial models and dashboards for cost tracking and performance analysis
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost accounting and financial data
  • Recommend improvements to cost accounting procedures and controls
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis or cost accounting (preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems)
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
