Job Summary:

The Jr. Accountant will support the finance and accounting operations of the company, specifically assisting with day-to-day financial transactions, cost tracking, payroll coordination, and project-based accounting related to construction activities. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records related to construction projects.
  • Monitor and record project costs (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors).
  • Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Support payroll processing for project-based staff, ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounts.
  • Help track and report on project budgets, progress billing, and change orders.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
  • Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors for billing and payment inquiries.
  • Assist in audits and tax filing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in accounting; experience in the construction industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or construction-specific systems )
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
