The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee, espresso, blended drinks, and teas. This role involves taking orders accurately, handling cash and card transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, provides excellent customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet customers and take food and beverage orders accurately, often multitasking between cash register and beverage preparation.
  • Clearly communicate product information, including ingredients, preparation methods, and seasonal offerings.
  • Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Process payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash or credit/debit transactions accurately.

Beverage Preparation & Quality

  • Prepare and serve all beverages (hot and cold) consistently, following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other coffee equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficient latte art skills and consistently foam milk to the correct texture.
  • Ensure all prepared items meet the highest standards of taste and visual presentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • College diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably in a cafe, restaurant, or retail environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can communicate at least basic English.
