The Quantity Surveyor (QS) submits accurate, cost-efficient, and timely estimates and bids according to the design and layout specifications of clients, with respect to the current market costs and building codes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Reviews all related construction plans (e.g blueprints, as builts, layouts, renders)

· Puts together and utilizes current market unit costs per respective trade for materials and labor

· Maintains and updates the internal database for unit costs per respective trade for materials and labor

· Tenders accurate and timely Bill of Materials/Quantity for each client

· Searches and screens contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to do pre bids for every site tasked to accomplish

· Tenders reports on costs awarded versus actual cost/budgets, risk management and value engineering cost

· Monitors and tracks implementation of awarded contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in conjuction with the site Project Manager and Account Manager through confirmation of progress reports and billings

· Advises material delivery strategies and lead times with the Purchasing Department, as per project site requirements

· Submits all related additional costs, Variation Orders (VOs), and cost revisions due to site progress

· Performs pre-site oculars required for bid purposes and regular site visits per awarded project to ensure progress is on track

· Establishes and maintains professional relationships with external and internal employees of the company

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of Civil Engineering

At least 1-3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying (Civil)

Strong time management and leadership skills

Must be able to work under pressure and deliver output within tight deadlines
