
Payroll Assistant

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely manner while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist will handle all aspects of payroll processing, including but not limited to calculating wages, preparing and distributing payroll checks, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments as necessary.
- Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with local payroll tax regulations.
- Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposits.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports as required.
- Assist with payroll audits and other special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of payroll principles and practices.
- Proficiency with payroll software/systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks).
- Knowledge of local payroll tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- 2 years' experience handling payroll
- Can handle multiple payrolls of companies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Intermediate skill in Excel.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient with reporting.
- Tech savvy.
