Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Technical Learning and Development Leader to drive the strategy, design, and implementation of learning programs focused on upskilling employees across financial services, risk, compliance, data, and technology domains. This role will lead a team of learning professionals and collaborate closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and HR to ensure the alignment of learning initiatives with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of financial services or professional services operations, deep experience in technical training design, and the ability to manage large-scale learning programs in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of the technical learning strategy, focusing on core capabilities such as risk management, data analytics, financial operations, and compliance.
  • Design and deliver structured learning pathways for various job families including analysts, associates, and functional experts.
  • Collaborate with business units to conduct needs assessments and align learning interventions with skill gaps and performance expectations.
  • Oversee instructional design, content curation, and vendor partnerships to ensure scalable, high-impact learning delivery.
  • Manage a team of L&D professionals responsible for program delivery, administration, and learning technologies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics; continuously improve offerings based on data.
  • Ensure programs are accessible globally and tailored to diverse learning preferences (virtual, on-demand, blended formats).
  • Stay current with industry trends in technical learning, financial services, digital learning, and certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, FRM, data-related badges).
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on talent readiness, upskilling/reskilling initiatives, and career development frameworks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Education, Human Resources, Finance, or related field; a Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CPTD, CFA, FRM) is an advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing learning strategies in financial services, consulting, or technology-driven organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of learning technologies (LMS, digital platforms, assessment tools) and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Experience managing external vendors and internal content development teams.
