Job Summary

OODC is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in a hybrid setup in Makati. This role is crucial for developing, deploying, and maintaining robust machine learning models, with a particular focus on the data and annotation pipelines that power them. The ideal candidate excels at rapid prototyping, possesses sharp analytical judgment to ensure data integrity, and is capable of quickly adopting new technical specifications and data taxonomies. • Have experience in one or more of these areas: Developing, deploying, and maintaining

ML models in production; expertise in computer vision or natural language processing

(NLP); and strong experience with large-scale data annotation pipelines and quality

assurance.

• Apply sharp analytical judgment to decide if a model's output (predictions, features) or

the training data (annotations, ground truth) meet the required technical and data

standards.

• Excel at following precise instructions and adopting new ML frameworks, algorithms,

and data entity definitions/taxonomies quickly.

• Possess strong analytical skills for judging data usefulness, feature relevance, and

model conformity to performance metrics and established specifications.

• Combine attention to technical and visual detail with the ability to document model

architecture, data pipelines, and performance findings clearly for internal and client

review.

• Communicate crisply in writing and thrive in multi-round, collaborative review and model

refinement cycles with research and annotation teams.

• Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effectively presenting

complex technical concepts.

Here are more details about the role:

• You'll collaborate directly with OODC project coordinators and the client's research, data science, and annotation leads to integrate ML solutions.

• Start dates are rolling; we aim to onboard qualified experts within a few days (1-2) of the final screening process.

• There is up to 40 hours of work available per week, depending on project needs.

• The work is a hybrid setup at Makati (requiring both remote and in-office presence).

With respect to pay and legal status:

• You will be legally classified as a project employee and will be paid every 3rd and 18th of the month.

Screening Process:

• You will undergo two levels of interview to assess your technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and cultural fit.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a data-centric role or possesses professional experience in a related role (Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or ML Engineer).

• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with commercial or open-source

data annotation tools and platforms.

• Data/ML Knowledge: Solid understanding of Machine Learning concepts, data labeling methodologies (e.g., bounding boxes, segmentation, transcription, NLP labeling), and how high-quality data impacts model performance.

• Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex projects, meeting tight deadlines, and managing a large, diverse workforce.

• Soft Skills:

o Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems and

select the most appropriate ML solution.

o Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain

complex models and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (Data

Scientists, Software Engineers, and Business Leaders).

o Adaptability: A commitment to continuous learning in a field that rapidly evolves.
