About the job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Stormwater Manager to oversees engineering teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard. They manage resources, liaise between the Engineering teams, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of stormwater management systems, including drainage, detention, retention, water quality treatment, and flood mitigation.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including stormwater permits, environmental guidelines, and applicable codes.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., XP-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
  • Oversee site development stormwater strategies, erosion/sedimentation control, and green infrastructure solutions (e.g., rain gardens, bioswales, permeable pavements).
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil engineers, planners, contractors, and clients) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables while maintaining a high standard of quality and client satisfaction.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, studies, and proposals to internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: At least 7 years of progressive experience in stormwater engineering, water resources, or civil infrastructure design.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in AutoCAD, with expertise in MUSIC (Model for Urban Stormwater Improvement Conceptualisation) software highly desirable.
  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities, with a proven record of successfully delivering stormwater design projects from planning through construction.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external stakeholders.
