The Compensation & Benefits Officer is responsible for designing, administering, and maintaining the organization's compensation and benefits programs in compliance with Philippine labor laws and internal policies. The role ensures that salary structures, benefits programs, and employee rewards are competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational goals. This position works closely with HR leadership, payroll, finance, and external government agencies to ensure accurate and timely delivery of compensation and statutory benefits.

Key Responsibilities1. Compensation Administration

  • Implement and maintain the company's compensation structure, salary ranges, and job grading system.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and market salary surveys to ensure competitiveness.
  • Prepare compensation analyses for promotions, adjustments, and new hires.
  • Ensure internal equity and compliance with company policies and salary guidelines.
  • Support annual performance appraisal and merit increase processes.

2. Payroll Coordination

  • Work closely with payroll teams to validate salary changes, allowances, deductions, and government contributions.
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy, ensuring all compensation items are properly recorded and processed.
  • Address payroll-related employee inquiries as needed.

3. Benefits Administration

  • Manage enrollment, updates, and claims processing for HMO, group insurance, and other employee benefits.
  • Liaise with benefits providers, negotiate renewals, and assist in evaluating new employee benefit programs.
  • Communicate benefit programs to employees and provide guidance on usage and coverage.

4. Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Philippine labor laws and statutory requirements (DOLE, BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
  • Oversee preparation and timely submission of mandatory government reports and remittances.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and recommend process improvements to maintain compliance.

5. Employee Data Management

  • Maintain accurate employee compensation and benefits records within HRIS or internal systems.
  • Generate regular reports and analytics for HR and management decision-making.
  • Ensure confidentiality and data privacy in handling sensitive employee information.

6. Policy Development & Process Improvement

  • Assist in developing C&B policies, guidelines, and SOPs.
  • Continuously evaluate and streamline C&B processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support internal audits related to compensation and benefits.

7. Employee Support

  • Provide guidance to employees regarding compensation, benefits, and government-mandated procedures.
  • Conduct orientation sessions to explain company pay policies and benefits during onboarding.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, Accounting, or any related field.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, Payroll, or HR Generalist roles (more for senior-level roles).
  • Experience working with Philippine government agencies (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR) is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sprout, Salarium, QuickBooks).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Labor Code and statutory benefits.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
