AI Engineer

InspireX is looking for an AI Engineer with strong Java development expertise to join our growing engineering team. This role will work across several exciting projects that involve AI model integration, training, and deployment, helping shape the future of intelligent systems across multiple industries.

At InspireX, we specialise in software solutions for the professional Audio Visual (AV) industry, supporting product teams, manufacturers, and enterprise clients with development expertise that blends deep domain knowledge and technical excellence.

While AV remains our core domain, we're expanding our footprint into areas like AI-driven software, machine learning integration, and automation platforms that push the boundaries of what's possible in connected systems. This role is part of our continued investment in AI and will contribute to a growing portfolio of projects centred around intelligent automation, model integration, and scalable system design.

As an AI Engineer, you'll combine your software engineering skills with applied AI/ML experience to design, build, and integrate intelligent systems into existing and new products. You'll work with engineers and developers to train and fine-tune models, integrate APIs, and build scalable Java-based systems that bring AI capabilities to life.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone eager to be at the intersection of AI research and practical software engineering.

What You'll Do

• Design, train, and integrate AI/ML models for code generation and intelligent system behavior
• Implement scalable backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks
• Develop and maintain training pipelines, data preprocessing workflows, and model evaluation tools
• Train and fine-tune models for specific use cases, leveraging tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or OpenAI APIs
• Build data pipelines to support model training, evaluation, and deployment
• Establish and document fine-tuning guidelines and maintain deployed models over time
• Build APIs and microservices to deliver AI functionality to applications and developer tools
• Evaluate AI frameworks, model architectures, and cloud services (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure AI, GCP Vertex AI)
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and stakeholders to define and deliver AI-powered features
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and ensure model deployment follows best practices in security and scalability
• Monitor and continuously improve model accuracy, reliability, and efficiency in production
• Stay current with AI and ML advancements and proactively introduce improvements

What You Bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Java and backend expertise
• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML model integration, development, or deployment
• Hands-on experience with one or more AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or OpenAI APIs
• Strong understanding of machine learning pipelines, data preprocessing, and model evaluation
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Expert-level knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation, including scalable architecture, versioning, and security best practices
• Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and implementing CI/CD pipelines for AI and backend systems
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data governance in AI and software development environments
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical applications
• Curiosity and a passion for exploring how AI can enhance user experience and business outcomes
