Retail Operations Assistant (Department Stores)

This role is a dynamic mix of field operations, administrative management, and personnel development. You will be the primary bridge between the head office and our Department Store (DS), ensuring that sales targets are met, inventory is accurate, and our Sales Associates (SAs) are properly monitored.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Management & Turnover Oversight


• Must be willing to travel frequently to out-of-town locations to manage physical stock counts.

• Lead and document the formal turnover process of stocks when a Sales Associate resigns or transfers.

• Assist in reconciling inventory records with physical counts and investigate any variances during the turnover process.

  1. Stakeholder & Mall Relations


• Assist with Store management regarding floor space, stockroom issues, and mall-specific promotions, coordinate with Operations Supervisor & Operations Manager.

• Ensure all company operations align with SM's house rules and operational standards.

  1. Sales Monitoring & Reporting


• Assist in collecting daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports from every DS door/counter.

• Monitor individual counter performance against targets and provide real-time updates to the Operations Supervisor & Operations Manager.

• Consolidate field data into actionable reports for head office review.

  1. Training & Development


• Conduct training for new Sales Associates on brand heritage, product knowledge (specifically for Citizen and other assigned brands), and sales techniques.

• Ensure all sales associates are proficient in policies & reporting protocols.

• Identify gaps in service or product knowledge and provide on-the-spot coaching.

Qualifications & Skills


• At least 1-2 years in retail operations, preferably with experience dealing with major department stores (SM, etc.).

• Must be willing and able to travel out of town on short notice for field audits.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train diverse groups of people.

• Comfortable working with numbers, inventory spreadsheets, and sales reports.

• A "hawk-eye" for inventory discrepancies and a commitment to meticulous documentation.
