About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Exterior Design Engineer who will take charge of developing, engineering, and implementing exterior and façade systems that meet architectural, structural, and aesthetic standards.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all exterior components — from curtain walls and cladding systems to roofing and glazing — are designed with innovation, precision, and long-term durability in mind.

Core Functions

  1. Design Development & Engineering

Prepare technical drawings, layouts, and 3D models of building exteriors, façades, and structural interfaces.

Provide engineering calculations, material specifications, and design solutions aligned with architectural intent.

Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and project technical requirements.

  1. Technical Coordination & Collaboration

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to validate design feasibility and system integration.

Evaluate materials, fabrication methods, and installation processes for cost-efficiency and constructability.

Conduct design reviews and participate in technical meetings to resolve design or site-related challenges.

  1. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

Oversee façade mock-ups, testing, and inspection procedures to ensure adherence to approved designs.

Recommend new materials, technologies, or design methodologies that enhance performance and sustainability.

Prepare documentation for client presentations, tenders, and as-built references.

Error or Revision Rate Less than 5% of submitted drawings requiring major rework.

Project Delivery Timeliness 100% on-time submission of exterior design deliverables.

Innovation Index At least 2 new material or system improvement proposals per quarter.

Team Coordination Score Minimum 4.5/5 satisfaction rating from architects and project managers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture (with engineering experience).

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in façade or exterior system design, particularly in construction, architectural, or design-build settings.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Rhino, or equivalent design and analysis tools.

Strong knowledge of cladding systems, curtain wall design, waterproofing, and structural behavior of façade materials.

Excellent analytical, visualization, and problem-solving skills.

With site coordination experience and understanding of design-to-installation process.
