Sr. Cost Engineer

About the role

Here in Wee Community Developers, Inc., a Senior Cost Engineer plays a critical role in cost estimation, budget management, and financial planning for projects. They ensure that construction costs are accurately estimated, controlled, and optimized to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.

What you'll do

1. Carry out appraisals on applying electrical & auxiliary contractors for a specific project.

2. Assist in budget Creation for Business Plan, Permits, Bank and Bidding

3. Participate in checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations

4. Regularly coordinate with Materials Controller and purchasing department regarding latest prices of electrical & auxiliary materials.

5. Resolve any unexpected budget & costing technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

6. Recommend the final contract amount of the winning electrical & auxiliary supplier or contractor

7. Assist Junior Cost Engineers in reviewing electrical & auxiliary variation orders and changes in plans which affect the labor, material quantity and project schedule so that these can be included in the cost analysis.

8. Disseminate the Budget Information to involved departments and construction group.

9. Provide clarifications on the construction scope of works and Owner-Supplied Materials (OSM).

10. Review material specifications based on the budget and Contractor-Furnished Materials (CFM).

11. Prepare and consolidate electrical & auxiliary bid documents - Bid Forms, Invitations to Bid, Bid Plans, Site Condition Pictures and Bid Packages prior to sending to the Qualified Bidders.

12. Prepare the tabulation of electrical & auxiliary bid proposals.

13. Monitor and record of electrical & auxiliary contractor billings and change orders based on contract amount.

14. Attend site coordination meetings and assists with determination of project requirements. Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client budget due to cost.

15. Prepare reports as required.

What we're looking for

• Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, or any related field
• With at least four (4) years of related working experience
• Experience handling estimate and budget for housing and mid-highrise condominium project is an advantage
• Knowledgeable in construction materials, labor, and equipment components costing
• Effective communication and negotiation skills dealing with contractors and suppliers; bidding and canvass
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, AutoCAD, Sketchup,  Bluebeam Revu or any 3D modeling software
• Willing to start as soon as possible
