Key Responsibilities:

  Design and Development

  • Prepare, design, and review electrical plans, layouts, and specifications for various building systems (power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, etc.).
  • Develop and implement innovative electrical solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., Philippine Electrical Code, IEC, IEEE).

  Project Planning and Coordination

  • Coordinate with architects, civil, mechanical, and other engineering teams for design integration.
  • Prepare electrical load computations, single-line diagrams, and equipment schedules.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, estimates, and timelines.

  Installation and Supervision

  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems at the project site.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure workmanship and materials comply with approved plans and specifications.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

  Testing, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting

  • Conduct regular inspection and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Maintain proper documentation of test results and maintenance activities.

  Compliance and Documentation

  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, as-built plans, and other related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company quality management systems.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.

  Safety and Quality Assurance

  • Enforce electrical safety procedures and standards at all times.
  • Support the implementation of safety programs (e.g., lockout/tagout, PPE compliance).
  • Ensure all work meets required quality and performance standards.

  Continuous Improvement

  • Research and recommend energy-efficient and cost-effective electrical systems.
  • Stay updated with emerging electrical technologies and standards.
  • Participate in professional development and training programs.

Qualifications:

A Professional Electrical Engineer may:

  • Design electrical systems for buildings, industrial plants, and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare, sign, and seal electrical plans and specifications.
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and other relevant standards.
  • Conduct energy audits, system reliability studies, and safety inspections.
  • Provide expert consultancy or serve as a project electrical engineer.
